Darlington AGM 2014

Nearly 50% of members attend at DHC AGM!

The compact Kiddush room was full to bursting for the Darlington AGM on Sunday 23rd March. Fortunately new, padded seats arrived just in time though we need not have worried too much about having to sit overlong, as the meeting was most ably and efficiently chaired by Ray Honeybourne, and whilst giving everybody a chance to say something (which they did), he ensured that we covered the agenda and business 10 minutes before the advertised finish time! Grateful thanks to Ray, to Sarita Robinson, Northern Development Worker for the MRJ who was our guest speaker and to Bess Robertson,  the newly elected chair, who organised everything including that chair delivery and the refreshments.

Peter Freitag, who stood down as chair after nearly 30 years on and off in the role, welcomed the election of Bess Robertson and urged the community to support her. In his report Peter said that he was glad to leave the Congregation in good shape and expanding. He was elected Honorary President. There is a now a large team of members actively engaged in helping to run and represent the community. This group constitutes a magnificent 40% of the adult membership
