On  Shabbat, 8th Feb,  with an impressive  70% of the Darlington Hebrew Congregation in attendance, all seats were filled as they were joined by a party of  Durham University students  from Rabbi Bort’s Judaism: History and Culture class. Professor Robert Hayward also brought some students from his Biblical Hebrew class. Congregants and students took part in a lively study session led by Rabbi Borts on the topic of Jewish Ethics studying passages from Pirke Avot before all present attended morning service. The community were delighted to be able to offer mitzvot to all the Jewish students who were in the visiting party.

The service was followed by a lavish kiddush/buffet lunch catered by the Darlington community
