Team of Torah readers at Darlington’s July Shabbat service!

When Rabbi Borts mentioned on one of her visits to lead a service in Darlington, that in some communities where there are not people able to easily prepare a parasha to read from the sefer torah , a group of members will volunteer to study and learn to read a few verses each, it  really seemed such a good idea that immediately 5 members took up the challenge to learn 21 verses of devarim for our July 13th Shabbat service which was led by Ray Honeybourne.  Ray, Martin Craster and Aaron McAllister were not total novices but for Darlington vice-chair, Bess Robertson and membership secretary Peninnah McAllister it was a ‘first’ but hopefully one that we will be able to repeat in the future.
