Party Fun in Darlington

Nearly 50 people, aged from 8 months to 80 plus, spent a marvellous afternoon at Darlington Hebrew Congregation’s Chanukah party on 9th December as members were joined by family and friends. Daniel Robertson showed an enthusiastic band of 14 youngsters how to play dreidel. Many chocolate coins were won, lost and eaten! Carolyn Judah organised pass the parcel. The slightly older children enjoyed Chanukah colouring, word search and quiz before adults, babies and children  all settled down (and joined in) an hour‘s marvellous entertainment from ‘Mr Twister’. Many thanks go to everyone who helped especially Maggie McCulloch who co-ordinated the catering and of course all our Darlington members for providing the magnificent spread. The afternoon concluded with candle lighting and Chanukah prayers and songs led by Bess Robertson.
