Visit of Chief Executive of the  Movement for Reform Judaism to Darlington

As a result of an email from Ben Rich saying that he would shortly be in York and would like to take the opportunity to pay a call on the Darlington community, a hastily called meeting of Officers and the Trustees was arranged for the 22nd August. To the great credit of our Officers and Trustees and despite it being the holiday season, all attended. Being Darlington, the meeting with Ben took place over coffee and (plenty) of cake! It was a most useful encounter as Ben was able to take away  not only a very positive impression of our small community and synagogue but also provided us with many useful sources for help and advice with our on-going projects, including involving more of the  non-affiliated Jews in the area with our community. We are hoping that the next time Ben is in York he will be able to bring his family and join us for a service.
